Our products

Windows: Casement Windows, Sash Windows

A full range of top quality fenestration solutions, including:

Casement – Storm Proof
Casement - Storm Proof
With the casement overlapping the frame, this style of casement window is the most common, and is recommended for properties which are particularly exposed to the elements. However, storm proof designs are relatively modern and the flush style is coming back into fashion with those who wish for a more classic look.

Storm Proof casement products are available in Accoya® wood, aluminium or uPVC.

Casement – Flush
Casement - Flush
In this style of window the casement is flush with the frame, and is more in keeping with traditional pre-1930 windows. Our modern high performance flush casement windows are very popular, just as cosy as storm proof, and often replace storm proof styles to give the property a more original ‘kerb appeal’.

Flush casement products are available in Accoya® wood, composite, aluminium or uPVC.

Sliding Sash
Sliding Sash
Beautifully constructed from Accoya® wood, our sliding sash windows are available in the traditional weighted box sash or spring balance mechanism options. Aesthetically there isn’t a great difference between them and they are both easy to operate. Box sash are often mandatory in listed buildings for the replacement of original window installations, but if this style is not required, the spring balance style is a lower cost option.

Mock Sliding Sash
Mock Sliding Sash 3
This is an Accoya® wood casement window designed to look like a traditional sliding sash window. Red Kite’s Mock Sliding Sash windows look so authentic that they are indistinguishable from the real thing. A great choice for those wanting a classic look with the thermal performance of a casement.

Yorkshire Sash
Yorkshire Sash
A horizontal sliding sash window which replicates this historic style, whilst achieving a modern standard of thermal performance.

Bi-Folding Doors

Bi-Folding DoorsA stunning addition to any home, connecting the internal and external space, bi-fold doors can be manufactured to span reveals from as narrow as 1.8m (2 panels) to 6.4m. These doors have slim sightlines, but are strongly built with energy efficient glazing units, as well as being highly secure. As most of the weight is supported from above (we can install an upgraded lintol above your reveal if required) the operation of all Red Kite’s Bi-Folds is remarkably smooth and easy.

Bi-Folding Doors are available in either Accoya® wood or aluminium.

Patio Doors

  • Different internal and external finish.
  • A choice of different glass types are available, to reduce glare and protect curtains and furnishings, increase thermal performance and security, or cut out excess heat in summer.
  • We can copy any original fenestration arrangement or build to order any non-standard design
  • If you have an original period feature, such as coloured lead, we can incorporate it into your replacement unit (encapsulation).

Conservatories, Orangeries and Garden Rooms – new build and full replacement

All of our glazed extension products benefit from the highest of build standards from the ground up. From our ground works to the roof, every care is taken to ensure your additional space will be a beautiful and integral part of your home, be warm and cosy during winter, comfortably cool in summer, as well as functionally perfect for many decades to come with minimal maintenance required.

Our ‘turn-key’ service extends, if required, to include the options of interior design, decoration, flooring, blinds or curtains and even furnishings.

Conservatories
Conservatories
A range of modern and traditional designs, from the simple low pitch ‘lean-to’ (minimum 2.5 degree pitch) to the more elaborate Edwardian, Victorian and Lantern styles. We can cater for any size and configuration. Up to certain sizes, under permitted development no planning or even building regulations approval are required. We can advise you of this, and if your desire is for a larger space, we can handle all aspects of the planning process and building regulations inspections on your behalf. These structures usually feature either ‘dwarf’ walls or full height glazing units and doors. You can also ask us about the Veranda and Pergola options.

Conservatories are available in Accoya® wood, composite and/or aluminium.

Orangeries
Orangeries
Conservatories, when fitted with pelmets around the perimeter (which can incorporate lighting and other features such as audio system speakers) can look very similar to Orangeries. However, once the total vertical glass area drops below 50% and 70% in the roof, it is officially classed as an Orangery and this type of structure will always require planning permission. From design and application submission, to interior design and furnishings, we can handle all aspects of your project for you. These structures feature a greater proportion of masonry, including full height as well as ‘dwarf’ walling. Ask us about the stylish Loggia option.

An orangery is the pinnacle of extension living and can be a truly stunning addition to your home.

Orangeries are available in Accoya® wood, composite and/or aluminium.

Garden Rooms
Garden Rooms
The term ‘Garden Room’ covers a multitude of designs and configurations, but usually refers to an extension structure incorporating full height glazing or ‘dwarf’ walls, but with a fully insulated, tiled roof. A garden room roof may also include sections of glazing, or rooflights such as Velux. With a U-value of only .17, better than building regulations requirements for a new-build roof, you can be assured of the creation of a comfortable and year round usable space which will complement you home. Ask us about the Hybrid roof option, which incorporates a mixture of solid and glazed sections.

Garden Room roofs benefit from a fully insulated system supported by a strong aluminium frame. Tiles can be composite, or you can choose tiles to match your home’s existing roof. Windows and doors can be Accoya® wood, composite and or aluminium.

The ‘Urban Room’
This variation on the Garden Room theme incorporates a fully insulated, prefabricated roofing system which can be used where a particularly shallow pitch (up to a minimum of 5 degrees) is required.

Case Study: uPVC Conservatory, Leeds

David and Mary in Leeds had an old uPVC conservatory which had a triple-glazed polycarbonate roof which made the space freezing in winter and unbearably hot in summer. We removed the old roof, fitted discreet internal retro-fit posts, which then supported a new vaulted and insulated tiled roof with an internal pelmet incorporating downlighting. The whole of the internal walls and roof was then replastered ready for decoration.

Their reaction when the project was completed: Just about finished now and we cannot believe the difference from what we had!”
